Hi, my name is Joanne and I created Quiet in Class after many, many years of trying to force my way to have people use the word ‘speaking’ correctly!
As you can see from above, I also draw cartoons. These I share on Instagram and include in my books.
In June 2024 I set out on a one year YouTube challenge to record every day – this channel is called Joanne Whitlock. No teaching just speaking and sharing my ideas, thoughts and feelings.
Why?
Because that was the next stage of up-levelling for me.
Could I hit record and let people see who I was, without hiding behind the teacher mask.
It’s been a roller coaster of emotions, as you will see if you go take a look. But what I really want you to know is that all of us have our next challenge ahead. Our particular combination of factors that stresses or triggers us, or skills that we simply need to learn and practice.
My next challenge? You’re looking at it. Can I combine being me and teaching?
Can I share the knowledge that I have without the need to be intense and defensive? To enjoy connecting? To hold lightly something that I actually care a great deal about?
Who knows. But I promise to share that journey with you too. Because you’re my people.
